6 Days Fes Desert Tour Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Fes

On the first day of our 6-day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity for an initial city tour to get acquainted with the surroundings.

Day 2Explore Fes

Dedicate an entire day to discovering the intellectual hub of the kingdom. Explore notable monuments including the Medersas (Koranic Schools) such as Chahrij, Bouinania, and Attarin. Wander through the vibrant Souks, explore Fes El-Jedid, and visit the historic Karaouine Mosque, the world’s first university.

Day 3Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midalet - Merzouga

Begin the third day of our 6-day Fes Desert tour to Merzouga Sahara after breakfast. Depart for Merzouga via Ifrane, passing through the Cedar Forest and the scenic Ziz Valley. Arrive at Merzouga desert camp in the afternoon, where you’ll embark on a camel ride and spend the night under a nomadic tent. Enjoy dinner and accommodation in the tents.

Day 4Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Dunes

Immerse yourself in the magic of the desert! Witness the captivating sunrise over the dunes before returning to the hotel on camelback. Explore the area with a 4×4 excursion, visiting attractions like the Dayet Srji lake and meeting Gnawa or Bambara musicians. Encounter semi-nomadic families living amidst the sand and stone before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5Merzouga - Middle Atlas - Fes

After breakfast, depart for Fes via Rissani, the former economic capital of Morocco. Journey through the picturesque Ziz Valley, admiring the Palmerales and Gorges along the way. Stop at AZROU to observe the majestic landscapes of the Middle Atlas and the Cedar Forest, where monkeys roam freely. Continue through IFRANE, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland,” before arriving in Fes in the afternoon.

Day 6Fes - Airport

At the agreed time, transfer to Fez airport, marking the conclusion of our 6-day Fes desert tour to Merzouga.
